Children’s Social Care Recruitment Evening
Thursday 28 March 2019
Doors opening 5.30pm, with talks from 6pm – 7.30pm
Lion Salt Works, Northwich, CW9 6ES

On Thursday 28 March, we will be hosting a recruitment evening at Lion Salt Works to meet experienced social workers (qualified 1 year + and completed ASYE programme), to join our borough-wide Children with Disabilities Team and our award-wining children’s social care teams in Northwich and Winsford, to help us build on one of the most successful Ofsted inspections in the country.

Come along and meet our tight-knit team of social workers, supportive Team Managers, Senior Management Team and Director of Children’s Services, who will be there to answer your questions and share the benefits of our highly competitive package including flexible working, multiple employee benefits, professional support and a wealth of training opportunities. The event will begin at 6pm and refreshments will be served throughout.

We have successfully ‘grown our own’ high performing Senior Practitioners and Team Managers and are keen to continue this trend with our next generation of social workers. If you choose to join us, you will benefit from our strong commitment and investment into social work progression, career development and innovative CPD opportunities.

Inspections by Ofsted have highlighted that we have ‘good’ Children’s Services, with ‘outstanding’ leadership and management and adoption. The quality of our workforce and our learning and reflective culture have also been recognised. We understand the complexities and challenges of the job. Our Winsford Children in Need Team also won the coveted ‘Team of the Year’ accolade at the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2016, placing Cheshire West and Chester amongst the highest achieving authorities in the sector.

Now is also a particularly exciting time to be joining the Council as we are in the midst of rolling out new ways of working throughout the service and with our partners. This will embed an evidence-based practice model across all service areas, ensuring that there is a common approach to working with children and families, leading the way to transform and modernise practice whilst making a ‘good’ service even stronger to ensure all our families, children and young people are supported to get the best start in life. As an authority we have been approved as Partners in Practice with the Department for Education, sharing our good practice and learning with other authorities.
