Cheshire West and Chester Council's annual adult social care staff conference is an important opportunity for colleagues to come together as one team to learn, share and celebrate our practice. This year's theme was equality, diversity and inclusion.
Over 300 staff attended the recent conference and heard from 27 speakers from within the service and externally. They covered important topics such as LGBTQ+, micro-aggressions, neurodivergence, commissioning for equality, and disability. There were also practice-focused sessions led by the Principal Social Worker and Principal Occupational Therapist.
Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive. Here's an example:
" It was a great to connect with colleagues and hear from inspiring leaders. Being in a room full of adult social care workers made me feel incredibly proud and part of something very special"
The Council recognises and values the experienced and skilled workforce it has within adult social care and these events offer an important opportunity to show case people's work, practice, and the individual assets we all bring.
